Aloha from Honolulu!

Last month I had the privilege to visit one the of most beautiful places on earth, Honolulu, Hawaii. Before visiting, I'd always thought about Hawaii in terms of postcard-like scenery and luau celebrations. What I was surprised by was the obsession that Hawaiians have with President Obama, street art, and all things SPAM.

My stay in Honolulu started out slow and typical by my standards. I spent time getting settled into my room. Walking around the nearby area to explore what was at my doorstep and of course, looking for food. I had no concrete plans and no clue where to start my adventure. After meeting some new friends, the course of my trip to a turn from the unknown to visiting various trails, lookouts, city stops, and the glory that is Honolulu.

This trip confirmed so many things I knew about myself and I learned a couple of new things as well. One thing that was validated during this trip was my constant quest for peace. Honolulu moves slow. Slower than Texas. But in an odd way, it was very relaxing. During all of the stops at the lookouts and beaches I felt complete tranquility. I could literally sit out there for hours in silence and meditate. One thing that I learned about myself is that I appreciate nature more than I thought. During the hike at Manoa Falls, I would stop frequently just to absorb my surroundings. I found beauty in the smallest, most overlooked things.

Honolulu was so stunning and unpretentious I even thought to myself that I would be open to having a destination wedding there, pending a husband of course lol. I hope you enjoyed the photos I've shared. There were over a hundred that I had to weed through. That never happens which goes to show just how in awe I was. If you have any specific questions about my trip, leave them in the comments section. Thanks for reading!
