Views From The 6

Jordan 6’s in the six

Last month, I visited Toronto, ON for my very first time. When I learned of OVO Festival, I thought to myself “There’s no way I can miss a Drake concert in his own city”. To say that I enjoyed my trip would be a vast understatement. I did not want to come home. Toronto was truly the city of love.   Everyone there seemed to be happy and coupled up which was refreshing  since I don’t see that much in Houston. The people were attractive, the weather was great, and the food…. do not get me started on the food! Let’s just say I would definitely transition from “thick” to BBW status if I lived there. I could totally go on gushing about how much I loved Toronto and how I wish I’d lost my passport so I’d have to stay there but I won’t. Below is a summary of my trip in photos. Please be mindful that I hate taking photos while vacationing so these pics represent a very small portion of my experience. Enjoy!!!

my home during this trip… The Strathcona Hotel.

A large part of this trip was exploring the city through its food. The food scene here spoke to my heart. Everywhere I went were subtle signs that I was exactly where I was supposed to be.

The Toronto Food Truck Festival at Woodbine Beach Park was definitely a highlight of the trip. There were so many vendors to try. I ate as much as I could without making myself miserable lol. Toronto has amazing food. I attribute much of that to its diversity, much like Houston.

The street view of The CN Tower.

You cannot come to “The 6ix” and not visit the CN Tower. At the top is the EdgeWalk and a restaurant. The tower rotates on its axis and provides a 360 degree view of Toronto, hence the name of The 360 Restaurant. Talk about an amazing way to enjoy lunch - Roast Supreme of Chicken with Sage and Asiago Cheese paired with Charred Sweet Corn and Double Smoked Bacon Pudding, Crimini Mushroom Jus. Dark Chocolate Lava Cake “Wafferino” served with devil’s chocolate ice cream & warm vanilla custard.

Lake Ontario is gorgeous.

There was a pop-up at Drake’s OVO store so of course I had to stop by and grab something! I snagged the lapel pins you’ll see below in my concert pics.

OVO Fest time! Views from the lawn lol! My actual footage of the concert is shaky at best and would only give you a headache. Sorry folks. :(

I’m obsessed with collecting currency from other countries. I’m always jelly at how pretty their money is.

There are lots of experiences I did not capture via photo or post to my other social media. For example, the concert itself and that was the primary reason I went on this trip lol. The special guest line up included: Kanye, Future, Pharell, Travis Scott, and Party Next Door. The energy of the crowd was something I hadn’t seen in person before and the whole city in general was excited about Drake’s homecoming. This is hands down one of the best concerts I’ve ever attended - not that I expected anything less. I also attended the official afterparty which was fun but ended with a shooting. Thank God, I left before that happened. One thing I do regret is not participating more in the Caribana events that were happening but, there’s always next year.

As I mentioned before, I hate taking pictures while traveling. I legit spend more time trying to savor my experiences than being a typical, picture-taking tourist. If you have ever been to Toronto, did you love? Let’s chat in the comments. Ciao!
