As I get older, I’ve found myself gravitating toward looser fabrics. These days all I can think of when I get dressed is, “Am I going to be comfortable?”. When I saw this dress I knew it would fit my aesthetic and comfort requirements. I was right.

On this day, I decided to treat myself to brunch and wanted to be cute yet comfy. The metallic flats added some interest to an outfit full of dark and possibly drab colors. I often find that the best outfits are the ones that don’t take much thought. Simplicity gets me out of my apartment in record breaking time, which I can appreciate. It also allows my clothing to compliment me instead of serving as a distraction. I’ve stated before that I’m a minimalist in my head but the truth is, I’m really a print whore. This outfit gives me the best of both worlds.

Although boxy in shape, this shift dress is perfect for those days when my body isn’t feeling or looking its best. I can be free without sucking my stomach in or worried about my pudge being on display and I get to show my best feature: my legs. Fashion tip: identify your favorite body part and make that the focal point when getting dressed. You’ll always feel amazing.

On any other day, I would pair this dress with black leather sandals and a crossbody. But it was raining throughout the day so flats were my savior (I hate getting my feet wet). An oversized clutched and a red lip are my signature. It took me all of 15 minutes to get dressed out of the house. Does it look like it? Maybe. But it didn’t matter. I felt great.
