Hotel Review: The Four Seasons, Ft. Lauderdale

Views from my room balcony

Throughout the years, I have stayed at a myriad of accommodations. AirBnBs, friends homes, and depending on who I traveled with, some terrible motels. Now that I’m older, I travel primarily solo, and the budget has grown, hotels are my preference. Nice ones.

I want to be comfortable, treated well, have great food options, and be in a walkable area or area where I am close to major attractions of that city. Usually I have full control over my hotel selection but I also travel for work. During those times, I have no input on the accommodation so I just cross my fingers and hope for the best. My stay at the Four Seasons in Ft. Lauderdale was one of those trips and I was VERY impressed by this hotel.

When a hotel brands itself as 5-star, I have expectations. The Four Seasons met them all. From the moment I set foot in this hotel, I was greeted and treated with kindness. My room was upgraded to an ocean view room on a higher floor, without request. The staff made sure I was informed of their amenities and offered their assistance at every turn. This stay was during the winter holidays and the decorations were warm and inviting. There are 5 different options for dining and drinks to choose from. I ate at the Mediterranean and American restaurants. The food was very good and so was the presentation. Room service was quick and fresh. One of the best features of this hotel is that it’s on the beach. You can dine poolside, indulge in the two pools, or get a daybed on the Sun Deck. I’m not a fan of Florida but because I was required to be there, I could not have chosen a better place.

Other amenities include an activity program for kids, the ability to rent a custom electric car or a bicycle from the hotel, a 24-hour gym, beach concierge to book beach or sea activities, a spa, and yoga classes. For those with a little pocket change, they also have residences available for extended stays starting at 30 days up to a year.

My room itself was very comfortable. I had a kind-sized bed which I enjoyed but wished the pillows were more firm. The bathroom was large and luxe with all of the hygiene products being supplied by Le Labo. For work, there was a large wrap around desk to use. For fun, the mini-bar was stocked with all of the necessities and then some. My favorite feature was the city and beach views from the balcony. The balcony was large enough to host others but also a perfect place to go alone to unwind from the day.

Final thoughts: I love this place and highly recommend it. If you have questions or other comments, please leave them below. Thank you for reading. Ciao!
