Hotel Review: The Global Ambassador
/entrance to the global ambassador hotel
There are times when planning a trip that you find a hotel and there are other times where the hotel finds you! My entire trip to Phoenix was dictated by my desire to stay at this hotel. The Global Ambassador definitely found me and I was immediately sucked in by its sophistication. From the time I set foot on the property, I was awed. I arrived on my birthday, December 24th, and my every need was catered to. I was generously upgraded from the petite suite I booked to a studio suite with STUNNING views of Camelback Mountain. I was also sent a complimentary bottle of rosé and a chocolate tart by the front desk.
My room wasn’t quite ready when I got there so I browsed the onsite boutique and enjoyed lunch at the Pink Dolphin (not photographed). The bartender was great and so were the fish tacos + frosés I had. By the time I was done eating, my room was ready and upon entrance, I was wowed!
The room was befitting for a solo rich auntie or a couple wanting a romantic getaway to themselves. The bed was large and comfy. There was plenty of reading material for travel lovers. The views, walk-in closet, and in-room bar were all great. My favorite feature though? THE BATHROOM! Double marble sinks, a separate beauty vanity, and Byredo bath products was just the start. The best part were the HUGE soaking tub large enough for 2 and dual shower large enough for at least 4 people. The room was equipped with everything needed to relax - including Augustinus Bader eye patches or your own “personal massager”.

The bar was STACKED. And it didn’t matter if you were a caffeine addict, a wine lover, or a cocktail connoisseur - there was something for everyone. But with books like “The Drunken Botanist” and “The Negroni”, one could definitely role play as a professional bartender.

Because I vacationed here alone during the week of Christmas, there wasn’t much to do in the city so I spent most of my time at the hotel. And that was perfectly fine with me. By the time my birthday comes, I’m usually exhausted from work and want nothing more than to relax anyway. Because of that, service and food were my top priorities. Neither area slacked. Many locals come here just to eat at the restaurants which says a lot about the food. At night there is usually a live band playing in the lobby and the restaurants are dimly lit which make them perfect for date night.
I ate at all of the onsite restaurants during my stay and highly recommend you do the same. I even ordered room service for breakfast on Christmas Day. All of the meals I had were top tier. I went to Le Ame, the Parisian steakhouse, twice. If you can’t eat at all of the restaurants, definitely go there. If you want the backdrop of the mountains while dining, go to Thea at night and dine on the patio.
Aside from eat and sleep, I also treated myself to a massage at the Spa. I couldn’t photograph or record inside for the privacy of other guests but it was beautiful with a variety of products available for purchase. My massage was good but I have had better. Other services that I’m sad I didn’t get to use was the beautiful gym and their concierge services. If you need help making reservations or booking activities outside of the hotel, concierge will happily help you with that.
I was truly sad to leave this place when it was time to go home. I wish they had locations in other cities and that I had enough funds to live there permanently. One can dream. I know I’m not the only person that has stayed at a hotel that has stolen their heart. Please share some of your amazing hotel experiences down in the comments.
As always, thank you for reading. Ciao!
