It is said, that you can’t know where you are going if you don’t know where you’re from. And to a certain degree, that is true. As a traveler, as well as a Black woman in America, I often ponder “where I’m from” and what role that will play in my future.

As I scroll through the feeds of my many social media accounts I notice one constant: Labels. And I’m not referring to the designers we wear.

It’s that time of the year again and like every other year, I couldn’t care less. Although most women LOVE Valentine’s Day, I might be the exception.

For this look, I chose something that made me feel confident, pretty, and powerful. If your wardrobe doesn’t make you feel at least one of those things, it’s time to start tossing.
