C. Baldwin Hotel Launch Party

A VERY SMALL LOOK AT THE VERY BIG TURNOUT!

A VERY SMALL LOOK AT THE VERY BIG TURNOUT!

As I begin my Atlanta journey in isolation, many evenings are spent reminiscing about all the fun I had when I was “outside”. Thoughts all of the great events I attended when I was living in Houston replay over and over in my mind. Of them all, the most memorable event of 2019 was the C. Baldwin Hotel Launch Party. In Houston, I’d receive so many invites to all kinds of things and I’d rarely oblige for several reasons; Most of the events were during the work week and I’d be too tired, distance/traffic, unclear messaging about the point of the event etc. However, when I got the invitation for this party, I immediately reserved my spot for myself and a plus one. BEST DECISION EVER!!!

C. Baldwin, Curio Collection by Hilton, is located in the heart of downtown Houston and is the epitome of “Old Hollywood Glam”. It is absolutely gorgeous! Upon arrival, guests were valeting their Rolls Royces while being greeted by a marching band and a welcoming staff. The entrance was grand with a grass wall, a step-down seating area, and a spiraling staircase. One of my favorite DJ’s, DJ Shante, was on the turntables and each way you looked there was a familiar face. From broadcasting legend Isiah Carey to Houston rapper Slim Thugg, as well as a host of professional athletes, bloggers, and socialites. The party was buzzing with Houston’s Elite and for once, I’m happy I didn’t stay at home.

The hotel’s boutique offers very unique clothing and accessories. For those who enjoy a patio, the outside courtyard is just as lively as the inside. The restaurant, Rosalie, took me back to scenes of mobsters walking their girlfriends through the kitchen to get inside since you could view the kitchen from the entrance. My guest and I explored as much of the hotel as we could before settling down near the DJ and bar. The invite promised an ‘unforgettable evening of festivities featuring surprise performances and delicious culinary offerings’. They did not lie! The food and drinks were flowing, and I definitely had my fill; Pizza, seafood hor’deurves, caviar, fresh oysters shucked on demand, an open bar, and enough champagne to sedate me for a year…. just to name a few of the options.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the party and thought to myself, “I should attend more events”. Now that we are all stuck inside, that sentiment has been resounding even louder in my mind. Once this pandemic is over, I have a full list of things I want to do. Booking a stay at the C. Baldwin Hotel is at the top of that list. So is building an exciting and event-filled social life here in Atlanta. In the comments, I would love to hear some of the things you plan to do once it’s safe to resume normal life.
